Welcome!

Garden Valley School Division is a dynamic, innovative and visionary school division located in the heartland of south central Manitoba. It has a student population of 4300 and continues to grow. The City of Winkler, the industrial hub and home to the division’s administrative office, two high schools and four of its eight primary/elementary administrative units, has all of the amenities of a larger city within a rural setting. It is seventy-five minute drive south of the provincial capital, Winnipeg, and twenty minutes north of the United States border.

Garden Valley School Division is a learning community. We believe education revolves around teamwork, communication, and trust. We provide a caring, interactive learning environment for students and staff based on strong relationships. Our dedicated staff offers an extensive range of high quality programs and services to engage children in twenty first century learning. Students are invited to learn, grow and discover what it means to be part of a diverse and growing community.

Our schools provide a sense of belonging, love, responsibility and collaboration. We endeavor to cultivate in our students a balance of educated minds and caring hearts. Along with parents, our objective is for students to be reflective and critical thinkers with a strong sense of moral responsibility. Our mission is to facilitate excellent education for children to become good neighbors, workers, and citizens.

GVSD is “Learning Today, Building for Tomorrow”. Since 2006 we have added three new schools – Emerado, Prairie Dale, and Northlands Parkway Collegiate. Much has changed so we invite you to learn more about us through our website. Take time to view the programs and services we offer from Kindergarten to Grade 12, our vision for the future as outlined in the Strategic Plan and opportunities for employment.
