1. Border Valley School Presentation

Principal Renae Hildebrand, along with teachers Esther Zacharias and Patrick Doerksen, and students Alexis Fehr and Brianna Dyck, provided highlights of several initiatives on the Border Valley School plan.

Border Valley is currently implementing "The Leader in Me" program throughout the school, which focuses on the seven habits of highly effective people.

The school also has a focus on literacy throughout all grades, and is excited about some of the positive changes that are taking place with students.

2. Kindergarten Literacy Philosophy Paper

As part of the Board's strategic plan around improving literacy in the early years, the literacy action plan committed to striking a kindergarten committee to develop a literacy philosophy to ensure a consistent approach across all kindergarten classrooms in Garden Valley School Division.

To support the implementation of this philosophy, there will be ongoing professional development for Kindergarten teachers as well as support from the divisional Literacy Coordinator.
