e bulletin 31.  Plum Coulee School Presentation
• Principal Mary Eberling-Penner shared an update on the school goals of literacy, numeracy, and global and school citizenship.
• Various intervention strategies are being utilized to help those students who need additional supports to be reading at or above grade level.
• Plum Coulee School is also focused on improving numeracy skills of students, specifically in the area of problem solving.
• In the area of citizenship, the school has initiated Youth in Philanthropy, who are now exploring opportunities for school involvement in local non-profit organizations. 
2.  Harvest for Kids Request
• Trustees approved a request from Harvest for Kids for 10 buses from GVSD for a Kids World Record Combine Event taking place in Winkler on August 4, 2018.
• The buses will be used to transport spectators and participants from nearby church parking lots to the harvest event site on the south end of Winkler.
 
3.  Community Catchment Meetings
• In September 2019, Pine Ridge Elementary School (K-8) will be opening and the school division will need to decide which children will attend the new school. The Community Catchment Meetings will take place as follows:
o April 17th, 7 PM at the Winkler Elementary School gym.
o April 19th, 7 PM at the Emerado Centennial School gym.
o April 24th, 7 PM at the G-V-C Zone. This meeting will be held in high German.
• Since Pine Ridge will be a K to 8 school, these meetings are for ANYONE with children attending       J-R Walkof, Emerado, Winkler Elementary and Parkland Schools.
