1. Emerado Centennial School Presentation

Principal Garth Doerksen and Vice-Principal Janice Krahn, along with Resource Teachers Dorothy Dyck and Carolyn Schellenberg, presented an update on their school's literacy goals.

Teachers have worked in Professional Learning Communities to analyze student reading assessment results, identifying areas of strengths and weaknesses in their students' literacy skills. Their focus has been improving reading comprehension. Significant gains have been made at all grade levels.

2. Manufacturing Program at GVC Tec

The Manufacturing Program at GVC Tec will be discontinued as of the 2014-2015 school year. The division will re-evaluate what the space will be used for. Students currently in the program will be able to finish Level 2 in the 2013-2014 school year.

3. GVC/NPC Educational Assistants Staffing Announcement

High school educational assistants were informed on April 26, 2013 as to which high school they will be assigned starting in the 2013-2014 school year.

4. Strategic Plan Update

Senior Administration provided an update on the current divisional strategic plan. Progress on the literacy initiative, social justice issues and technology were particularly noted.
