Job Title: School Psychologist

Employment Status: 30% Term

School/Location: Garden Valley School Division

Start Date: September 4, 2018 – December 21, 2018 

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:


  • A Psychology degree at the Masters level
  • A valid school clinician’s certificate in psychology issued by Manitoba Education
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment 

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Assessment and evaluation of students with intellectual, social, and emotional needs
  • Reporting to professional staff and parents on assessments
  • Providing follow-up support on programming recommendations
  • Working collaboratively with other members of the Clinical Services Team as well as the school team involved with students displaying intellectual, social, and emotional needs
  • Providing threat assessments if the need arises
  • Being a part of the Crisis Response Team if the need arises
  • Providing staff development on appropriate topics related to this field
  • Liaise with outside agencies to provide services to students and families as appropriate 

As this position requires travel on the part of the clinician, the successful applicant will need a vehicle to carry out the duties of this assignment.

Salary and Benefits: 

The compensation package for these positions is in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Garden Valley School Division and the Garden Valley Teachers’ Association.
