GVSD Trustees Receive Long Service Awards

Brenda Willey MSBA service award-130x97The Manitoba School Boards Association (MSBA) sponsors several awards that are presented each year in conjunction with its annual convention held in March.

The MSBA Long Service Trustee Recognition honours trustees with 12, 16 or 20 years of school board service. Two long-serving GVSD trustees received awards at this year's annual convention, which had the theme "Building Partnerships for Student Success." Current trustee Brenda Willey and past trustee Darrel Wiebe received Long Service Awards from the MSBA for 12 years of service. The awards were presented at the 2015 convention during the Long Service Trustee Luncheon held on Friday, March 20, 2015.

The MSBA Long Service Trustee award, established in 1988, recognizes individuals who have dedicated their time to trusteeship and the betterment of education in Manitoba. The division would like to congratulate Brenda Willey and Darrel Wiebe on their special achievement, and also thank them for their many years of dedicated service to the students and staff of Garden Valley School Division.
