GVSD Class Sizes
Last year, Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning introduced the Smaller Class Sizes Initiative, focusing on reducing class sizes for our youngest learners. School divisions are required to report on class sizes in Grades K-8, and to post the results on their division’s website for public viewing.
For schools with average class sizes that are over 20 for Grades K-3, and over 25 for Grades 4-8, divisions must include details on any additional supports being provided to those classes (i.e. additional educational assistants, rotational / specialized teachers, etc.).
We anticipate this initiative leading to enhanced in-class interactions between students and educators.
