Mental Health for Students & Families

Garden Valley School Division is dedicated to supporting positive mental health and wellness for students and families. In times of uncertainty, families are all experiencing new degrees of anxiety and stress. It is essential that parents and students feel supported during difficult times, and that they are able to maintain positive connections and reach out if they have questions or needs. Below is some helpful information regarding mental health and wellness supports and resources that are available to students and families.

Pathways Drop-in Counselling Program

If you’re struggling with your mental health or with a particularly difficult problem you just haven’t been able to overcome, are presently on a mental health wait list, or need a refresher session, consider utilizing this service. Individuals 16+ are eligible for this service. Drop-in counselling is available for ages 16 and up, first come, first serve. Every Monday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at Pathways, 351 Main St., Winkler.

Intake Community Mental Health Services

Mental Health Crisis Line

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, call Crisis Services at 1-888-617-7715 or attend your local emergency department for immediate assistance.

Another crisis line is 988. This is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
