Garden Valley School Division announces that a School Board vacancy has been created with the resignation of Ward 2 (rural) Trustee June Letkeman, effective October 31, 2015.

The Board, at its September 8, 2015 regular meeting, appointed Terry Penner, Secretary-Treasurer, as the Senior Election Official (SEO).

A By-Election is planned to be held Wednesday, November 18, 2015.  All residents within the Garden Valley School Division are eligible to be elected for the vacancy provided they are a Canadian Citizen, over the age of 18 and reside within Garden Valley School Division.

A quick glance at the GVSD Election Calendar:  The Nomination period will run from Tuesday, October 6 through Tuesday, October 13, 2015. Nomination papers will be available at the Division Office.  An Advance Poll is scheduled to take place at the GVSD Division Office on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 pm.  Mobile Voting is scheduled to take place Friday, November 13, 2015.  Election Day – scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Division Office.
