• J. R. Walkof principal Moyra Vallelly, together with teachers Warren Wall and Jamie Dyck provided a presentation on supporting student mental health in the early years.
• Three initiatives that are used to support students were highlighted:  Restitution, Zones of Regulation, and Roots of Empathy.

2.  Kindergarten Registrations
• The current number of Kindergarten registrations total 344.  This has surpassed the target to meet the projection of 334 Kindergarten students for September 2019.  Further registrations are expected between now and September. 
3.  2019 Skills Manitoba Competition
• Skills Canada Manitoba (established in 1998) is a not for profit, charitable organization that works with employers, educators, labour groups and governments to reposition skilled trades and technology careers, as a first-choice career option for Manitoba youth.
• The Skills organization guides students toward available opportunities in skilled trades and technology through events and programs like the skills competition.
• The Board of Trustees would like to acknowledge and congratulate the following GVSD students on a job well done at the Skills Manitoba Competition:
o Jonathan Theobald – NPC – Electrical Installations (Bronze)
o Linda Wiebe – GVC – Job Skill Demonstration (Silver)
o Jelina Blatz – NPC – Baking
o Daniel Marx – GVC – Baking
o Emmanuel Richter – GVC – Outdoor Power and Recreation Equipment (Gold)
• A special congratulations go out to Emmanuel Richter on representing Manitoba at the 25th Annual Skills Canada Competition taking place in Halifax, NS from May 28th and 29th, 2019.
4.  Division Strategic Plan 2019-2023
• At the January strategic planning event, the board reviewed and revised the mission statement, belief statements and goals.
