Garden Valley Teacher's Association and Garden Valley School Division operate a joint professional development committee. The committee has representatives from each school in the division, as well as members that represent principals, clinicians and the division office.
The professional development committee has two major goals. The first goal is to promote ongoing professional learning for all teachers. To further this, the professional development committee offers opportunities for teachers to participate in Professional book studies and Collaborative Learning Groups (CLG's). Information on these initiatives can be found on this website, or you can speak with your school's professional development representative.
The second goal of the committee is to plan and implement division wide professional development events based upon the expressed needs of teachers. The committee plans two professional development days a year for Garden Valley teachers. If you have a suggestion for a professional development session, submit it to your school PD representative.
