Garden Valley School Division is pleased to announce the appointments of Mike Friesen as Principal of Garden Valley Collegiate, Brendan Neufeld as Vice-Principal, and Walter Giesbrecht as Vice-Principal.
Mike brings 22 years of experience in education, with a strong background in instructional leadership. He has taught and served as an administrator in both the Border Land and Garden Valley school divisions and is currently the Vice-Principal at Garden Valley Collegiate. Mike is a firm believer that schools thrive when genuine collaboration is at the heart of their culture. Over the years, he has come to appreciate the power of open, positive communication in fostering a successful learning environment.
Brendan has dedicated 22 years to education at Garden Valley Collegiate, where he has served as a teacher, athletic director, and Vice-Principal. He values the power of authentic collaboration in building strong relationships with staff, students, and parents.
Walter has spent 20 years as a teacher, making a significant impact both in the classroom and through his work in student services at Garden Valley Collegiate. Since 2015, he has served as a resource teacher, dedicated to helping students take ownership of their learning. As Vice-Principal, Walter will continue to promote an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
