The Hairstyling program at Northlands Parkway Collegiate provides students with the theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience needed to perform a variety of hair services for women and men. Students also learn basic manicuring techniques.
Training includes classroom instruction, mannequin practice, and working with real clients in the school’s salon. Students build skills in cutting, coloring, styling, and customer service. Creativity, strong communication, and good manual dexterity are key for success in this field.
The program is accredited by Apprenticeship Manitoba. Students who complete all three sections, achieve 70%, and accumulate 1,400 hours may receive credit for Level 1 in-class technical training toward Red Seal certification.
Practical hours can also be earned through the High School Apprenticeship Program (HSAP) with placements during evenings, weekends, or summer breaks.
Students interested in the Hairstyling program are encouraged to visit the RRTVA website for more information.
